Kenton Pro Solo Editor plus SYNC24 Breakout Box
Big update for the panel. You can now save a bank of names - it's just the text but useful as a memo of your patches. You can also save and load individual patches to and from the Pro Solo via the editor. The panel has been completely rewritten and is licence free. It runs on Mac to at least Catalina. Standalone and AU component.

Sync24 Breakout Box
Integrating analogue sequencers with a DAW is easy if you can send Midi Clock and Reset to your sequencer. Fortunately, the Pro Solo can send Midi Clock from any of its 3 Aux outputs. But a neater solution is to set the MIDI THRU to Sync 24 and extract Clock and Reset from there. It means you don't have to use your Aux CV outs which in my case are connected to my SEM.
DIN Sync or SYNC 24 uses Pin3 for clock and Pin 4 for Reset -Start. Here's the parts list
- Small project box
- 5 pin DIN socket
- 2 Mini Jacks
- 1 x 1uF capacitor
- 1 x 10K resistor
Because the Reset-Start signal goes high and stays high while the sequencer is running you need a simple circuit which is an R-C differentiator:
So when you press start the continuous Reset-Start signal is converted to a pulse which can then feed the reset of the sequencer - which in my case needs a short pulse of around 3-5Volts
Here is an updated version I mounted on 19" panel. It now has 3 Reset jacks, one for each of my Carp 1601 sequencers. Much more professional!
Kenton CTRLR panel - older versions ans some history
I'm not going to go review or go into any in depth stuff about this wonderful box. You can get that from Kenton's website. I just want to share a couple of things as I have spent considerable time developing a CTRLR panel and I have also built a very simple interface to route signals to my CARP 1601 analogue sequencer.

One of the nice features is you can recall one of the 32 memories and the controls update so you can see what is programmed. It means a lot of my controls on the SEM can be recalled - so Filter EG settings, transpose, LFO amongst others can be called up. I should really create a name control because it's easy to forget what is stored in each preset,
